Today is the 12th of Mar, 2022. Today we are going to do some data analysis on the total applications for Provincial selection where PNP nominations were issued for Canadian Permanent Residence (Non-EE) between 2018 and 2020. This data could give us some idea on the growth trajectory of Provincial selections based on provincial quotas beyond the Express Entry program. On my screen is the chart highlighting the data for 2018, 2019 and 2020 In 2018, there were 47240 total applications picked from the federal Express Entry pool by provinces. The number in 2019 was 53990 and in 2020 during the global pandemic we have seen the provinces pick less. The 2020 figure was 25554. Provinces are active picking candidates for their provincial needs directly through Provincial nomination. They offer several pathways including employer driven, international students and more.
