Quebec Skilled Worker Selection success rate for previous 5 years 2016 – 2020

Today we are going to do some data analysis on the total applications for Permanent Residence applications processed for the Quebec Skilled worker selection program for the previous 5 years between 2016 and 2020. This data could give us some idea on the growth trajectory of the program and the success rate of the program and also could be a benchmark for the current Arrima Express Entry portal based program. This is the Global numbers and the approval rates are also based on a Global trajectory. Region specific numbers may differ in their trajectory.
On my screen is the chart highlighting the data for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. We will discuss the success rate trajectory and the popularity of the program or in other words the increase in numbers year over year for this program. In 2016, we saw a total number of applications at 25576 with 24794 approvals providing a very health success rate of around 97%. In 2017 out of 25698 applications, 25157 applications were successful with a good success rate of around 98%. Let us now move on to 2018, where the processed applications were a healthy 26750 applications and an approved number of 26042 with a success rate of 97%. In 2019, even with the onset of the pandemic, the provinces continued to select candidates through this method and had 23109 applications processed and had an approval number of 22720 with a success rate of 98%. OK, 2020 was the final year of full data we have and considering the Pandemic, the total was a low number of 11040 applications and an approval number of 10868 with an average rate of 98% success rate. Overall, the trajectory of numbers and success rate is going up where the numbers increased as well as the success rate was maintained.
